Oncologist - Noorwegen/Norway
WE ARE LOOKING FOR: ONCOLOGIST
Haugesund Hospital has a full-time permanent oncologist position available at the day care unit. Haugesund Hospital is a general hospital, located in the city of Haugesund. It is a part of the teaching facility network of Regional Health Authority of Western Norway. You will work in a team with other oncologists from Haugesund hospital and Haukeland University Hospital (HUS).
Most of the patients treated in Haugesund have gastrointestinal cancer or breast cancer. You will also treat patients with other diagnoses in consultation with oncologists at HUS.
The work consists of consultations, ordering cures and consultations at departments with admitted oncology patients (there is not a dedicated oncology ward) and some administrative work. The work will also consist of collaboration with the palliative care team. The oncologist will be a key person in the development of cancer patient services in Haugesund.
The normal work place will be Haugesund, but ambulatory care in other hospitals in the region may become necessary.
We are looking for an oncologist who has interest in professional development and teamwork. Doctors in their final year of specialization may also apply.
What we expect from you:
We expect that you are able to work in a multi-professional team. We expect a positive and flexible attitude and good communication skills. A good sense of humor is appreciated. You need of course to learn the Norwegian language both written and oral at a high level.
What you can expect from us:
We have a 40 hours working week. Normal working days are from 08.00 a.m. until 15.30 p.m. senior consultants are on call every 6th day/weekend. We have always a junior consultant on call. Everybody in Norway has 5 weeks holiday per year, you will have in addition 2 weeks off and the Friday after a weekend-duty is a day-off. You have the opportunity to visit congresses/courses 10 days per year with full salary and specialist have a sabbatical period with full salary from 4 months every 5th year.
The hospital can be helpful with housing, looking for job-possibilities for a partner and schools for children. We will organize Norwegian language courses.
