POSITION IS LOCATED IN DIGBY NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA
Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is seeking an Executive Chef who takes a fresh and innovative approach to all menu development, highlighting the Nova Scotian and International cuisines. This person needs to be fresh, innovative and proactive. The Executive Chef takes charge and represents the Resort in the community and province as an Ambassador for the Resort and Nova Scotian hospitality industry.
The successful candidate will foster a culture of teamwork (kitchen, pastry, stewarding), a work environment where cooks are inspired to learn and contribute foster an environment at the same time caring for our guests' experience. Team co-operation and leadership skills are essential to continue to build and develop building the team of over 30 employees that represents the Digby Pines Golf Resort and Scotia culture.
Primary responsibilities include, providing highest food quality, strong cost control policies and procedures, delivering profitability margins, and maximizing guest satisfaction. The successful candidate must be able to lead and organize the kitchen department, create new and trend-setting menus, ensure that high standards of purchasing, hygiene and storage are maintained, staff training and motivation, inventory and cost control.
