The main segments of employment

Tourism - popular tourist region second only to Copenhagen – featuring large beaches with leisure and hospitality activities demanding a vast number of people to service the tourist segment.

Large agricultural activity – crops and cattle / livestock farming. Both skilled and unskilled labor is needed.

Industrial activities in the steel, wood and plastic manufacturing segments respectively, needing both skilled and unskilled labor.

Military – largest military bases and presence in Denmark currently expanding with options for both military and civilian jobs.

Currently Varde has an unemployment rate of only 1.4%, and the average number of jobs not fulfilled is 23% of which 11% remains unfulfilled and the rest are filled with people not meeting the initial requirement.

Options for employment are vast and diversified and new jobs are rolling in through new investments.

All facilities include significant related electrical infrastructure, power supply, utility lines, roads, and a wide range of secondary industries consuming or transforming the surplus heat… and the combined need of labor will be approx. 2.000 people.
