Living
Living abroad
Whether you are going to live abroad permanently or live there temporarily during your retirement years, buying a house is one of the most important decisions. Being well informed of the (legal) rules of play is very important to avoid disappointments in the future. You will find various estate agents from different countries at the Emigration Expo with their international stock of houses, living/working spaces, rental or permanent housing suitable for emigrants, expats, job-seekers, students, entrepreneurs and bon vivants.
Tip: take your time
When you have determined the country, region and town you prefer, pay it a visit outside the holiday period. That way you will get a good impression of life in this town/region. Before you buy a house it advisable to temporarily rent a house in the area you have your eye on so that you can find out if you like life in this area and whether there are any unwelcome surprises nearby, such as a noisy factory.
